DriveMark Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 July 2026
DriveMark is a bookmark manager available as a Chrome extension and an Android app. It saves your bookmarks to a Google Sheet stored in your own Google Drive. This policy explains what data DriveMark accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected. DriveMark is operated by an individual developer ("we", "us") and is not affiliated with Google.
Information DriveMark accesses
- Your Google account identity. When you sign in, Google provides basic identity information (such as your email address) so the app can authenticate you. This is handled by Google's sign-in; DriveMark does not see or store your Google password.
-
A single Google Sheet in your Drive. DriveMark requests only the
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.filescope. This grants access only to files the app creates or that you explicitly open with it — specifically the spreadsheet that holds your bookmarks. DriveMark cannot see any other file in your Google Drive. - Bookmark content you provide. The page URL, title, folder, notes, and similar details you choose to save.
- Page metadata. When you save a page, the app may read that page to extract its title, a short excerpt, and a preview image. This is fetched directly from your device or browser and stored only in your bookmark record.
How the information is used
The information is used solely to provide the app's core function: saving, organising, and syncing your bookmarks in your own Google Sheet across the devices where you sign in. DriveMark does not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to this feature.
Where your data is stored
- In your Google Drive. Your bookmarks live in a Google Sheet that you own. You can open, edit, export, share, or delete it at any time using Google Sheets.
- On your device. The app keeps a local cache (in your browser or on your phone) so it can display bookmarks quickly and work offline. Clearing the extension's or app's data removes this cache.
- No DriveMark servers. We do not operate any backend server and do not receive, store, or transmit your data to ourselves. Data flows only between your device and Google's services.
Sharing and disclosure
DriveMark does not sell your data and does not share it with any third party. We use no analytics, tracking, or advertising services. The only external service involved is Google (Drive and Sheets), acting on your behalf and governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Google API Services User Data Policy — Limited Use
DriveMark's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. DriveMark only accesses and uses Google user data to provide and improve its user-facing bookmark features, does not transfer or sell this data, and does not use it for advertising or any purpose other than those described in this policy.
Data retention and deletion
Because your data lives in your own Google Drive, you are always in control of it:
- Delete the bookmark spreadsheet in Google Drive to remove all saved bookmarks.
- Clear the extension's or app's storage to remove the local cache.
- Revoke DriveMark's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
Children's privacy
DriveMark is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
